Michael
Hi, I’m Michael. I’m a student counsellor at Calm Journey.
I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step and reach out for support, and I have a great deal of respect for anyone who does. I have personally experienced the benefits of counselling and know how valuable it can be to have a space where you can talk openly, without judgement, and begin to make sense of what you are going through.
At different times in our lives, we can all feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, frustrated or unsure of ourselves. We may be struggling with relationships, self-doubt, difficult experiences from the past, or patterns of behaviour that we would like to understand and change. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t have to face it alone.
At the heart of person-centred counselling is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Our sessions will be guided by you and by whatever feels important for you to explore, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel supported, accepted, heard and understood.
I’m not here to tell you what to do or give you advice. Instead, I will work collaboratively alongside you, helping you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences so that you can begin to understand yourself and your situation with greater clarity. Together, we can work towards finding a way forward that feels more manageable and meaningful for you.
I bring a warm, thoughtful and empathetic way of being to my counselling practice. I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is an important part of the therapeutic process, and I aim to create a relationship built on trust, acceptance, honesty and respect.
My hope is that counselling can provide you with the time and space to reconnect with yourself, understand what you need, and move towards a more fulfilling and empowered future.
I offer a free 15-minute initial telephone conversation, giving us an opportunity to introduce ourselves, discuss what has brought you to counselling and explore what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure or obligation to continue.
